The France-Brazil Season 2025, which began in the first half of the year with a series of events in France, has arrived in Brazil with a cultural programme in every region of the country to celebrate the 200 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The programme is coordinated by the Institut Français and the Instituto Guimarães Rosa, of Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the embassies and with the culture ministries of both countries. Curatorship was in the hands of Anne Louyot for the programme in Brazil, and of Emilio Kalil, who led the programme in France.

The Season includes activities of exhibitions and art, music and dance, sport, science, sustainability, and debates and events on themes such as the decolonisation of museums and cultural policies in the cities of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Belém, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Campinas, São Luís, Teresina, João Pessoa and Macapá.

In São Paulo, some of the highlights are the Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster exhibition at the Pinacoteca, the exhibition “Debret em questão: olhares contemporâneos” at the Museu do Ipiranga, the Concerto Noite França-Brasil at Sesc Pompéia, the exhibition “O Mundo Segundo a I.A.” at Sesc Campinas and the Clermont-Ferrand Textile Biennial at Sesc Pinheiros.
