After the pandemic, this type of training intensified with the possibility of holding online sessions, which also allows people to take part from anywhere in the world – both students and teachers alike, broadening the diversity of possibilities. Some institutions have also resumed in-person courses, which are an excellent opportunity to meet people interested in the same subject. As well as helping to spread debates and information about their thematic focuses, institutions also find in courses a way of raising funds that are reinvested in other activities. In this post, take a look at a brief selection of museums that run courses and some examples of the ones coming up. ## MASP MASP, for example, runs the MASP Escola initiative, which brings together all the educational activities carried out by the museum on Avenida Paulista. They are all open courses, available to anyone interested in the arts, with or without training in the field, and taught by specialists. They range from short courses, with four classes, to slightly longer programmes, with around 14 classes. MASP works with both online and in-person formats. On 5 June, for example, there begins the course [Monet: a luz da natureza](https://masp.org.br/masp-escola/monet-a-luz-da-natureza) , with Felipe Martinez; on the 9th the course begins [Retratos, reflexões e subjetividades negra na arte](https://masp.org.br/masp-escola/retratos-reflexoes-e-subjetividades-negra-na-arte) , with Renata Felinto. The [MASP Escola schedule](https://masp.org.br/masp-escola) already lists the course programme up to the end of 2025. In another strand of training, the museum runs half-yearly courses in [História da Arte](https://masp.org.br/masp-escola/historias-da-arte) organised into a module that brings together four independent yet complementary courses. Each course has around 14 classes and, together, they cover the 14th to the 21st century, always with specialist teachers and the participation of guests in special lectures. ## MAM-SP Even with its premises temporarily closed on account of the restoration works on the canopy of Parque do Ibirapuera, the **Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM-SP)** remains highly active in its online courses, running a very consistent and varied programme in terms of themes and focuses – from practical training aimed at managers of cultural institutions to art history courses, covering a range of artistic media. Among the courses coming up are [Escultura brasileira: do modernismo à contemporaneidade](https://mam.org.br/curso/escultura-brasileira-do-modernismo-a-contemporaneidade/) , with Marina Mazze Cerchiaro and starting on 11 June. Later in the month, due to start on 24 June, comes the course [Cinema de autoras: novas narrativas visuais](https://mam.org.br/curso/cinema-de-autoras-novas-narrativas-visuais/) , with Paula Jacob. ## Pinacoteca **Pinacoteca de São Paulo** has a programme of courses aimed at museum professionals – in particular, museum educators – but it also runs training on architectural heritage and art history. The programme is published [on this page](https://pinacoteca.org.br/programacao/tipo/cursos/) . ## Instituto Tomie Ohtake Meanwhile, **Instituto Tomie Ohtake** runs online training focused on contemporary art that seeks to contribute to the education of teachers, artists, cultural professionals, students, researchers and anyone else interested in art and its cross-cutting themes – the Pernambuco curator Moacir dos Anjos, for example, has just finished a course at the institution on the theme “Curadoria, Representação e Política”.
