The situation is quite common: it all starts with the wish to acquire an artwork to complete the decoration of the house and give the room an air of sophistication. One artwork leads to another, until the person finds themselves the owner of a collection – and with no more space on the walls and furniture for new pieces, now that the need to decorate has been supplanted by the pleasure of engaging with art in a systematic way. What is to be done when there is nowhere left to put the pieces that have been acquired?
Unfortunately, most collectors leave thinking about this “small” detail until there is no longer any space for the collection. Artworks bought earlier lose their place on the wall to new pieces and end up propped up in another room that serves as a store, but at risk of damage from poor housing.
