The photography-focused fair that SP-Arte used to hold in August has grown and, in this year of 2022, will encompass other artistic languages. Called Rotas Brasileiras, the event will be held from 24 to 28 August at the ARCA venue, in Vila Leopoldina, in the western zone of São Paulo, close to Parque Villa-Lobos (see on the map).
There will be around 70 exhibitors from the five Brazilian regions, including major art galleries and invited projects, among them institutes and foundations. Visitors will thus be able to see the works presented by Almeida & Dale, Zipper, Luisa Strina and Nara Roesler alongside stands from Arte Pará, Bancos Indígenas do Xingu, Fundação Pierre Verger and Instituto Mário Cravo Neto, among others.
The organisers guarantee that photography will continue to have a strong presence at the fair – an opportunity, therefore, for anyone who has been thinking of starting an art collection. Because of their reproducibility, photographic works tend to have more affordable prices than other media, such as painting and sculpture, being a common gateway for new collectors.
