The storage and logistics service for artworks is so specialised that Chenue, the French company that is a partner of Clé Reserva Contemporânea, has recently opened its own school for the training of the teams that carry out these activities – the EILOA – École Internationale de Logistique des Œuvres d’Art. It is the first institution in the world created for this purpose.
EILOA runs training in the handling and packing of artworks in varied formats and materials, the organisation involved in the international movement of exhibitions, and the management of complex logistics. The institution also maintains LabEILOA – a laboratory for research and study into techniques and materials aimed at developing sustainable processes for the sector.
Since July, EILOA has been running training in Brazil with the teams at ArtQuality, a company based in São Paulo that is Clé Reserva Contemporânea's partner in the packing and transport of works and collections. One of the main points of the training was the interaction with other professionals involved in art handling – how to behave and support every stage of the works' arrival at their destination, including unpacking and the ritual of checking the condition reports.
